The SMATFARM 60W LED Reef Light is a programmable fixture for saltwater aquariums and coral tanks. It has three channels, white, blue and violet blue, each dimmable with a timer for a full daily cycle.
Programming
The light has built-in SPS, LPS and MIX program modes, which make a reasonable starting point. You can also dim channels in 1% steps and set sunrise, sunset and moonlight times. An OLED screen shows the menu and settings, and you can adjust them with the touch buttons or the remote.
Running several units

Larger tanks often need two or more lights. SMATFARM supports 2.4G wireless master and slave group control: set the master and the others follow, so every fixture stays on the same schedule.
Heat and noise

A smart fan and aluminum heatsink handle heat. SMATFARM rates the noise at less than 40dB, which is quiet enough for a living room tank.
Mounting

The included oxidized aluminum bracket fits glass from 0.23 to 13 thick. You can also hang the light instead.
Starting corals under it
- Use the LPS or MIX preset at reduced intensity for the first weeks.
- Raise intensity slowly while watching coral color and polyp extension.
- Keep the moonlight dim; it is for viewing, not growth.
Compared with others
The NICREW NavaReef 65 is simpler to set up with a blue-focused spectrum. The SMATFARM gives you more control per channel and easier multi-light setups. A good salt mix such as Reef Crystals and stable parameters matter as much as the light.
Plan your mounting height before drilling or hanging anything; higher placement spreads the beam wider but lowers intensity at the sand bed. Keep a copy of your program settings written down, so you can restore them quickly if you ever reset the master unit.
The Bottom Line
A programmable reef light that scales well when you need more than one fixture.
