Jebao Jecob ELW-20 DC Wave Maker

The Jebao Jecob ELW-20 is part of the Jebao ELW series of DC wave makers. It moves up to 2641 GPH / 10000 LPH on just 20 Watt at DC 24V, which makes it a strong choice for reef tanks and big community tanks that need real water movement.

Controller and sine wave drive

The pump uses SINE wave technology with a four-pole motor, which Jebao says keeps it quiet and stable. The drive electronics sit in an external controller rather than inside the pump body. With no electronic devices inside the pump, there is less to fail from heat or water, and the wet side stays simple.

Group control

Running two or more pumps? Set one controller as master and the others as slave. The master sets the mode for every wave maker in the group, so pumps on opposite sides of the tank can work together to create alternating flow rather than fighting each other.

The adjustable angle helps you point flow behind rockwork, across the surface or toward the sand bed, wherever detritus tends to collect.

Who it suits

This pump is aimed at keepers of SPS and LPS corals, cichlid tanks and any setup that needs high turnover. For a planted tank or a nano, it is far too strong even turned down. Smaller fish and long-finned species will struggle in this much current.

Setup tips

Start on a gentle mode and raise flow over a week while you watch corals open and fish behavior. Keep the magnet pads clean so the base does not slip, and clean the impeller cage every few weeks so snails and algae do not slow it down.
