hygger Wave Maker 1500 GPH with 5 Modes

The hygger HG151 is a 6W wave maker with a max flow of 1500GPH, made for 20 to 100 gallons of saltwater or freshwater. It uses a pure copper motor and a wear-resistant ceramic shaft, and it runs on a DC 12V/1A adapter (input 100-240V 50/60Hz).

Five wave modes

• M1: classic wave pulse
• M2: sine wave
• M3: constant wave
• M4: random wave
• M5: classic wave cross-flow

Flow adjusts from 30%-100% and frequency from 5%-100%. A feeding mode, night mode and linkage mode for running more than one pump round out the controller.

Protection built in

The control system has an IC chip that guards the pump against overcurrent, overtemperature, overvoltage, undervoltage and a jammed motor. That matters on a pump that runs around the clock.

Where to place it

hygger gives three placement ideas. Near the top, it shapes surface waves and boosts circulation. In the middle, it imitates ocean surge and makes corals sway. Near the bottom, it lifts debris off the substrate so the filter can catch it.

What comes with it

The set includes the wave maker pump with an inside magnetic holder, the controller, the DC adapter, an outside magnetic holder and a user manual. hygger backs it with a 24-month warranty.

Fit and choice

A good starting point is random mode at about half flow, then adjust after a few days. Watch fish: if they hide or struggle near the pump, lower flow or move the pump so the current hits rockwork instead of open water. In a reef, linkage mode with a second pump on the opposite side gives alternating flow that reaches more of the tank.
