The MAQIHAN Aquarium Filter Media Pad is a white sheet of high-density filter floss. It traps fine particles and larger debris as water passes through, which is how you get clear, polished water.
Size
One sheet measures 39.4 x 11.8 inches. That’s enough for many inserts in a hang-on filter, several layers in a canister, or a full sump sock replacement panel.
Dense but free-flowing

MAQIHAN says the fiber is dense enough to catch fine sediment while still letting water through without backing up. Put it after a coarse sponge so it handles the fine material and doesn’t clog with big debris.
Where to use it

- Fish tank filters, freshwater or saltwater.
- Ponds and water gardens.
- Turtle habitats, where waste is heavy.
Reusing it

The floss is washable. Rinse it in old tank water when flow drops. Floss compresses over time, so once it stays flat and brown after a rinse, cut a fresh piece.
Cutting tips
Trace your filter tray or old pad on the sheet and cut just outside the line. A snug fit stops water slipping around the edges, which is the most common reason floss seems to do nothing.
In a hang-on filter, fold a strip of floss behind the stock cartridge. In a canister, lay a layer on top of the coarse foam tray. In a sump, place a layer where water first drops in. In each case the floss should catch only what the coarser media missed, which makes it last longer between rinses.
Similar options
The hygger 1 inch floss is thicker for intake guards, and the Aquatic Experts bonded pad is a coarser first stage.
The Bottom Line
A large, easy-to-cut polishing sheet. Layer it after a sponge and replace it when it packs down.
