The Timgle filter media set includes 3 bags of pre-mixed media. Each bag combines 12 kinds of filter materials, including volcanic rocks, ceramic rings, zeolites, activated carbons, coral sands, biological beads and bio balls. Every set comes in its own mesh bag, so you can drop it straight into a filter.
Why a mixed bag
Mixing media by hand takes time and guesswork. Timgle pre-blends the materials, so a single bag adds biological surface, some chemical filtration from the carbon and zeolite, and buffering from the coral sand. It is a quick way to fill a new filter or upgrade a basic one.
What each part does

- Ceramic rings, bio balls and beads: homes for nitrifying bacteria.
- Activated carbon: removes tint and odor.
- Zeolite: binds some ammonia.
- Coral sand: nudges pH upward and helps keep it stable.
A note on pH

Coral sand raises pH and hardness over time. That suits African cichlids, livebearers and saltwater tanks. It is not ideal for soft-water fish like many tetras or for planted tanks aiming for low pH. In those tanks, a pure bio media such as SUKH ceramic bio balls is a better choice.
Where to use it

The brand lists ponds, saltwater aquariums, fish tanks of many sizes and hatcheries. The bags fit canisters and sumps well, and they also sit easily behind the sponge in larger hang-on-back filters.
Care and replacement
The bio parts can be rinsed and reused for a long time. The carbon and zeolite wear out sooner, so plan to replace or refresh those parts as water quality changes. Keep a supply of Fluval media bags handy if you want to split the mix.
Rinse each bag in dechlorinated water before first use, since mixed media often carries dust from shipping.
As with any new media, give the tank a few weeks to settle and keep an eye on ammonia and nitrite readings while bacteria build up.
The Bottom Line
A convenient all-in-one media mix for hard-water, pond and saltwater setups.
