The Pawfly 2267 is a CO2 diffuser made of 304 stainless steel. Steel resists bending, breakage and corrosion far better than glass, which is the usual weak point of CO2 diffusers. It is 9.8 inches long and suits aquariums with a minimum height of 13.8 inches.

Connector and check valve

A John Guest push-fit connector takes 3/163 ID CO2 tubing (ID: 4 mm, OD: 6 mm). Push the tube in and it locks; press the collar to release it. A built-in check valve stops back siphoning, so you do not need to add a separate valve right at the tank.

Ceramic disc

Pawfly says the improved, replaceable ceramic disc has excellent sealing and resists cracking. It makes very fine, dense bubbles for better CO2 dissolution. Expect larger bubbles for the first few days; fine mist forms once the disc is fully wet.

Pressure needs

This diffuser needs a CO2 source with a minimum working pressure of at least 43 psi (3 kg/cm²). That is the territory of a pressurized cylinder with a regulator. It is not suitable for low-pressure DIY plastic bottle generators.

First use

  • Soak it for 24 hours before first use
  • Mount it low in the tank with the suction cups
  • Place it near the filter outflow so current spreads the mist
  • Set a slow bubble rate and raise it gradually

Why steel

Glass diffusers often break during cleaning. A steel body can go in and out of the tank many times, and the disc can be swapped when it wears instead of replacing the whole unit.

Alternatives

For a shorter steel model, see the Clscea stainless steel diffuser. Pawfly backs this one with a 1 Year Warranty.

To clean the disc, soak it in a mild bleach solution, rinse well and soak in dechlorinated water before putting it back. A drop checker helps confirm the CO2 level once the rate is set.

The Bottom Line

A tough, serviceable CO2 diffuser for pressurized planted tanks.
