The Fluval SEA Marine Nano LED is a 20 watt, Bluetooth-controlled light for small saltwater and nano reef aquariums. It mounts over the glass and is adjustable in every direction, so it can be placed exactly over the corals you care about most.
Programming
From the Fluval app you can set a gradual 24-hour light cycle: sunrise, mid day, sunset and night. The light uses 7 unique band waves for full spectrum output, with independent color control so you can shift the balance between blue and white.
LEDs and coverage

Fluval uses H.T.E (High Thermal Efficiency) LEDs, which run at a higher operating temperature while keeping long-term output and spectrum steady. Each LED casts 120° of illumination, giving wider, more uniform coverage without dead spots in a small tank.
Housing
A fully encased aluminum shell transfers heat and protects against water and humidity, which matters in a salty environment. Fluval says the frame is 23% lighter and smoother than the previous generation.
Mounting
The over-the-glass mount has a repositionable, secure grip. You can adjust up and down, side to side, and forward and backward.
Good matches
- All-in-one nano reefs like the Fluval EVO XII or EVO V when upgrading lighting
- Soft coral and zoanthid nano tanks
- Fish-only nanos with live rock
Tips
Small reefs change quickly, so raise intensity slowly and keep nutrients in check. Clean salt creep from the lens regularly. If you want deeper coverage on a taller nano, mount it a little higher rather than turning it all the way up.
Before you add corals, use the app to save a gentle starting profile and leave it running for a week while you watch for algae. Fluval’s light is also a tidy upgrade for a cube where the stock fixture runs hot or lacks programming.
The Bottom Line
A compact, well-sealed Bluetooth light for nano reefs.
