YISZM Aquarium Sand is a beige sand sold here in a 2 lbs bag. YISZM also makes it in black and white, and in 5 lbs, 10 lbs and 20 lbs sizes. It is listed for freshwater and saltwater tanks.
Why a 2 lb bag
Small bags are handy more often than you might think:
- Pico and nano tanks, betta cubes and desktop bowls
- A sand “beach” or path in front of a gravel or soil scape
- Topping up sand that has been lost during vacuuming
- A sand area for corydoras in a tank that is otherwise gravel
How much will 2 lbs cover?

Only a small footprint. In a 2 to 3 gallon nano it gives a thin layer; for a 5 gallon you would want a larger bag. If you are unsure, buy the next size up, since sand is easy to store.
Clarity

YISZM says the sand resists clouding and settles quickly. Even so, rinse it in a bucket a few times before use. Fine sand always carries some dust from bagging and shipping.
Building a sand path

To keep sand separate from gravel or soil, set a line of stones or a thin plastic divider buried under the surface. Over time, fish and cleaning blur the line, so expect to tidy it with a long spatula like the FINBe substrate shovel.
Plants
Sand is inert. Plants that root in it need root tabs; java fern and anubias grow on decor instead.
Saltwater use
YISZM lists saltwater tanks too. For reef or marine tanks where buffering matters, an aragonite sand is usually preferred, such as CaribSea Arag-Alive.
Maintenance
Hover the siphon just above the sand to lift debris. Beige hides a little more than white sand but still makes waste visible enough to clean on schedule.
The Bottom Line
A convenient small bag for nano tanks and sand accents.
