The AquaMiracle powerhead is a fully submersible circulation pump with an epoxy sealed motor and an air venturi. The 135GPH model (500L/H) has a max lift of 2.5ft and draws 4.8W, for tanks of 10-40 gallons. A 210GPH model (800L/H) with 4.2ft lift and 10.5W covers 40-60 gallons.

Why a powerhead

Many tanks have quiet corners the filter barely reaches. A powerhead pushes water through those spots and carries fish waste toward the filter intake. River fish such as danios, barbs and loaches also enjoy a current to swim against.

Built-in aeration

The kit comes with air tubing and a venturi. With the tube above the water, the pump pulls in air and mixes it into the outflow as fine bubbles. That adds oxygen without a separate air pump, which helps in warm rooms or heavily stocked tanks.

Even heating

Moving water also spreads heat. A heater in one corner can leave the far end cooler; a powerhead mixes the water so the whole tank stays close to the set temperature and avoids a cold spot.

Placement

AquaMiracle suggests two units on bigger tanks, one at each side of the back glass. Aim them so the flows meet and circle around the front. Keep flow gentle for bettas and fancy goldfish.

Choosing a size

  • 135 GPH: 10-40 gallons
  • 210 GPH: 40-60 gallons

Care

Rinse the intake and impeller during water changes. A clogged intake cuts flow and makes the motor work harder.

For bigger tanks with no venturi, see the AQUANEAT 480 GPH wavemaker.

If the venturi bubbles are louder than you like, pinch the air line with a small valve to reduce them, or pull the tube out of the water line entirely for plain, quiet flow. The pump keeps circulating either way, so you can match it to the room and the fish without any extra parts at all.

The Bottom Line

An easy, low-cost way to add both circulation and oxygen to a small or mid-size tank.
